Privacy Policy

Last updated: see your deployment's own records. This describes what Profet collects and how it's used.

This is a plain-language draft, not a substitute for legal advice. If you're evaluating this platform, ask its operator for the specific policy that applies to your account.

What we collect

Account info: your username and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
Optional contact info: an email address, if you choose to add one -- used only to let you reset your password if you forget it.
Optional demographic info: birth year and country, and how you heard about the platform, if you choose to answer them at signup or later in Settings. Entirely optional, and never required to use the platform.
Trading activity: every order, trade, position, and ledger entry your account creates -- this is the actual product, not incidental data.
Basic usage analytics: which pages are viewed, on what kind of device, and (if you arrived from a link) the referring site -- see our analytics dashboard's own scope for what this platform's operators can see in aggregate.

How it's used

To operate the platform: process trades, compute your portfolio and leaderboard standing, resolve markets, and let you recover your account.
To improve the product: understanding which features and markets are actually used.
Aggregated or de-identified data, including the optional demographic answers above, may be shared with or sold to third parties (for example, for research, analytics, or marketing purposes) unless you've opted out. We only do this for accounts that have actively agreed to it via the consent option in Settings -- it is off by default and never required.
If you've added an email and separately opted in (its own checkbox, off by default, never required just because you gave us an email), we may occasionally send you a "come back and play" reminder if you've been away for a while. Never more than about once a week, and every one of these emails includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works without logging in.

Your choices

Every optional field (email, birth year, country, referral source) can be added, changed, or cleared any time from Settings.
The data-sharing consent checkbox in Settings can be unchecked at any time -- this stops any *new* sharing going forward.
The "come back and play" email checkbox in Settings can be turned on or off any time, and every one of those emails includes its own unsubscribe link that doesn't require logging in at all.
To request a full copy or deletion of your data, contact the platform operator at [email protected].

What we don't do

We never sell or share your password (it's never stored in a readable form to begin with).
We never require the optional demographic fields to sign up or to trade.
We never pre-check the data-sharing consent box, or the "come back and play" email box, on your behalf.
