These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Profet, a peer-to-peer prediction market accessible at profet.markets (the "Platform" or the "Service"), operated by its founder ("Profet," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, or by otherwise accessing or using the Service, you ("you" or the "user") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
Profet allows users to trade positions on the outcome of real-world Yes/No questions ("markets") against one another, using virtual credits ("Credits") issued by the Platform. Prices on the Platform are determined by user activity and are not fixed by Profet, although certain markets may display a reference price derived from an independent third-party source for informational purposes. The Service is provided for entertainment, educational, and skill-development purposes.
Credits are a virtual, in-platform unit of account with no connection to, and no equivalence with, any real or virtual currency. Credits have no real-world monetary value, cannot be purchased with real money, cannot be redeemed, cashed out, withdrawn, or exchanged for real money, cryptocurrency, goods, or services of any kind, and are non-transferable except through ordinary use of the Service (i.e., trading with other users). New accounts are issued a starting allocation of Credits, and accounts may receive periodic allocations at Profet's discretion; neither is guaranteed to continue, and either may be modified, reduced, or discontinued at any time. The Service does not involve real-money wagering, is not a gambling, betting, or wagering product, and does not constitute a security, commodity, derivative, or other regulated financial instrument. Nothing on the Platform, including any reference price, market question, or resolution, constitutes financial, investment, legal, or betting advice, and no content on the Platform should be relied upon as such.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this Section and to take any action we consider appropriate, including issuing a warning, reversing affected trades or credit balances, and suspending or terminating the accounts involved.
Each market states, in its own rules, the source and method by which it will be resolved. Where a market is linked to an independent, official third-party source, that source's own published outcome governs resolution. Where no such source applies, or where the outcome is otherwise ambiguous, a market may be resolved manually by Profet staff acting reasonably and in good faith on the basis of the information available at the time. A user who disagrees with the resolution of a market may raise a dispute through the appeal mechanism made available on the Platform, within any time window stated for that purpose. Profet's decision on any such appeal is final. Profet reserves the right to void a market and unwind the positions held in it, without gain or loss to any party, where a fair or reliable resolution cannot otherwise be determined.
Profet operates certain automated accounts, including accounts that provide baseline liquidity and at least one account that trades using an automated, heuristic strategy (identified on its public profile as an official Profet AI participant). These accounts trade using the same order types and mechanics available to any user and are not given any pricing or informational advantage not otherwise available on the Platform. Not every automated account is individually labeled as such in every part of the Platform's interface.
The Platform may display data sourced from independent third parties, including but not limited to regulated exchanges and other public data providers, for reference and informational purposes only. Profet does not control, and is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or availability of, any third-party data or service. Any links to third-party websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement of their content.
The Platform may also display sponsored placements promoting third-party products unrelated to prediction markets. These are clearly labeled "Sponsored" wherever they appear. Profet may earn a commission if you purchase a product through one of these links, at no extra cost to you. A sponsored placement is paid advertising, not a recommendation, review, or endorsement by Profet of the product's quality, safety, or suitability for you -- this includes, without limitation, products related to gambling, trading, or investing, which carry their own independent risks. You are solely responsible for evaluating any third-party product before purchasing it, and any transaction is between you and that third party, not Profet.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and other content created by Profet (excluding content submitted by users and data sourced from third parties), is owned by Profet or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose. By submitting any content to the Service, including comments and market proposals, you grant Profet a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Service.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. PROFET DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT ANY REFERENCE PRICE OR MARKET DATA WILL BE ACCURATE, OR THAT ANY MARKET WILL RESOLVE IN THE MANNER A USER EXPECTS OR INTENDS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PROFET AND ITS OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE, THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT PROFET HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. AS THE SERVICE INVOLVES NO REAL-MONEY VALUE, PROFET'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED TEN POUNDS STERLING (£10). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Profet and its operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any right of a third party.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, is harmful to other users or to Profet, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service and, where such functionality is available, request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us as set out in Section 17. Sections of these Terms which by their nature ought to survive termination, including Sections 3 and 8 through 11, shall survive.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms from time to time; where a revision is material, we will take reasonable steps to make the change apparent, such as updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after a revision takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, save that nothing in this Section shall limit any mandatory consumer-protection right you may have under the law of the country in which you are resident.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Profet regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements between you and Profet relating to the Service.
